When can I carry my baby facing forward?
You safely carry your child facing forward in the carrier when your baby can strong support his/her head, normally at about 4 months of age or later. Babies younger than 4 months should be carried facing in towards the caregiver.

Is it safe to carry a baby facing forward/out in the carrier?
Yes, once your baby’s back and spine muscles are sufficiently developed to hold her/his head up, your baby will benefit from being carried facing forward. At about four months babies start becoming more alert and curious of their surroundings, often described as ‘hatching’ socially. The forward facing position allows babies to be involved in the parent’s world and are more engaged in what is going on around them, and better positioned to learn from human interaction.
Babies forced to consistently face the caregiver will naturally turn around and twist their neck and spine in order to face forward, risking injuries.

Do I need the Infant Insert?
No, the infant insert is not required for any of the líllébaby carriers. You may use the carriers from newborn and through each stage without additional accessories required. The infant insert is only needed to carry your baby in the cradle position. The cozy cradle carrying position ensures adequate head/neck support, healthy maturation of the spine, and makes for a comfortable ride. Ideal for sleeping babies.

Do I need the Safety Harness?
The safety harness is a safety requirement for all soft infant carriers featuring a narrow seats. For the líllébaby carriers the harness strap is only required if you are using the narrow seat and your baby weighs less than 15lb (7kg). However, you may choose to use the safety harness for added safety any time.
- Narrow seat and baby is less than 15 lb (7kg) = use safety harness strap around baby.
- Wide seat = safety harness strap is not required.
- Babies over 15 lb (7kg)= safety harness strap is not required.
When can I start using the back carry position?
The timing for starting the back carry position is individual and depends on your baby’s development as well as preference. In order to be carried in the back position your baby must be able to strongly support his/her head and comfortable sitting with his/her legs on each side of your waist. The timing for this depends on your baby’s size, preference and the caregiver’s size.
Normally babies younger than 6 months are not comfortable or ready for the back carry position. The front and hip positions are also preferred as these allow you to see your baby and be more attentive to your baby’s safety and comfort.
Once your baby is older than 6 months you may start trying the back carry position. Some babies loves to be carried on the back while others takes time to adjust to the position. As babies get older, they also learn how to be positioned in the back position and helps with the motion.
